There are many beautiful homes in Ferguson, and each year residents are asked to help the city recognize homeowners who take great care and pride in maintaining their homes and property. Through the Pride of the City program, residents nominate homes that they think are the best maintained homes in the neighborhood. The nominations are listed by area wards for the Housing Board of Appeals to review; members of the board choose one home per ward each month from May to September to receive an award.
Winning homeowners get to display an attractive sign in their front yard showcasing their home as a Pride of the City selection. They are also invited to attend a City Council meeting for a special recognition ceremony hosted by the mayor and members of the council where they receive a certificate, a framed picture of their home, and a City of Ferguson flag.
