The National Civic League announced today that Ferguson is one of 27 finalists to receive the prestigious "All-America City" award, which recognizes communities across the country for innovative solutions to addressing their problems.
“These are some of the most innovative communities in the country,” said Gloria Rubio Cortes, president of the National Civic League. “They give us hope and inspiration and teach us important lessons about leveraging the civic energy of ordinary people to address difficult challenges during some very tough economic times.”
The City will compete against the other finalists in Kansas City on June 16-18 to be named an All-America City, joining only 500 other communities that have received the recognition in the past 61 years.
