[ARCHIVED] CITY OF FERGUSON AND DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SELECT FOUR FINALISTS

The City of Ferguson and the Department of Justice have selected four finalists to interview for the position of Independent Monitor of the Consent Decree. The names of the four finalists are:

• Ebevy YG
• Lemire LLC
• Squire Patton Boggs
• Police Performance Consultants

On Tuesday, July 12, one-on-one interviews are scheduled for each group. Each group will meet with the Department of Justice and City of Ferguson officials.

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, a community forum is scheduled for members of the public to hear from the finalists and ask the finalists questions. The community forum will take place at the Ferguson Community Center, located at 1050 Smith Ave, Ferguson, MO 63135.

If members of the public cannot attend the community forum, the City of Ferguson and the Department of Justice will continue to take public comments via email through July 14. The community can email their feedback to the following individuals:

• Ferguson City Manager De’Carlon Seewood (dseewood@fergusoncity.com),
• Department of Justice, Amy Senier (amy.senier@usdoj.gov),
• Ferguson Counsel, Jared Hasten (JHasten@winston.com).

On July 15, the City of Ferguson and the Department of Justice will confer and seek to reach agreement on an Independent Monitor. The parties will submit their selection to the Court, or notice that they have not been able to reach an agreement, on July 19.

The Independent Monitor will assess and report on whether the requirements of the Agreement have been implemented. The Independent Monitor will also determine whether the implementation is resulting in constitutional and otherwise lawful policing and administration of justice and increased community trust between the public and the Ferguson Police Department and Court.
