Imagine receiving a 50% discount on all construction, demolition and design costs associated with upgrading your building's exterior. That's what you can get with Ferguson's Facade Improvement Program. Designed to encourage the revitalization of aging buildings in the Citywalk downtown business district, the grant program allows property owners to receive up to $25,000 in matching funds to be used for eligible materials, professional fees, and labor costs involved in a variety of improvements, including tuckpointing, windows, doors, landscaping, historic restoration, awnings, exterior lighting, and painting. Only property owners in the Citywalk district may apply. Business owners leasing space must work with their property owner to apply. The Ferguson Police Department offers a 12-week police academy for citizens. This course is free to all participants. Instruction includes traffic, patrol, investigation, defensive tactics, and firearms. Text books and uniform shirts are provided. Watch for our next class to start in January 2008.
