Department Staff
The Ferguson Fire Department consists of two fire stations and is staffed by:
- One Fire Chief
- Two Assistant Chiefs
- 6 Captains
- 15 Firefighter/ EMT-B
- 5 Firefighter/ Paramedic
The staff are Certified Firefighter I and II by the St. Louis County Fire Academy and Missouri's State Fire Marshal. Officers have additional certification as fire officers I by the same organizations. Three members of the department have additional certification as Fire Investigator I by the state fire marshal.
Child Seat / Smoke Detector Checks & Installations
Residents can take advantage of child car seat safety checks and installations, and smoke detector checks and installations. Smoke detectors / alarms are available to the community on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge for either service.

Inspections & Presentations
Fire department staff conducts annual fire prevention inspections of Ferguson businesses to help them in conducting their business safely.
In addition to inviting groups and individuals to visit and tour the stations, speakers are available to groups for presentations about safety and fire related topics.

The Ferguson Fire Department has two fire stations and they are staffed 24 hours a day.
- House #1 has a pumper truck and a rescue truck
- House #2 has a pump and ladder vehicle and a reserve pumper truck

Because of the station locations, First Alarm Mutual-Aid has agreements with surrounding departments, and through training, equipment, and commitment to their profession, the department has received a Class 2 I.S.O. rating for fire insurance (ISO Scale 1-10).
