Upcoming Street Construction Project Status

Street Construction is underway throughout the community.  Be on the look out for crews working and please drive carefully for your safety and the safety of our crew as well as contractors.  

Please note the following, dates and times may change however we will work diligently to keep you updated: 

• Construction on S. Dade is completed
• Ward 1 street slab replacement is completed
• CDBG street improvements (Day Dr., Northwinds, Argent Dr., Blanding, Laurette, Dupree Dr., Halpin Dr., Castro Dr.,) ; completed

To the Concern Ward 3 Residents:

Work is being done by Missouri American Water, replacing and upgrading water services. The work on Ward Dr., plumbing and restoration of the road is expected to be completed in approximately 3 weeks. Work will continue on the East side of West Florissant Rd, Newton Dr., Venice Dr., and Fir Dr.  In addition, Missouri American Water will be doing plumbing connection transfers, and water service upgrades including the restoration of the road. Expected completion date is approximately two months, weather permitting. Please be aware of any construction on those streets and please pass this information on to any residents with questions and concerns. SPIRE is currently working on:

• N. Florissant and Frost to replace main, all locations
• Behle Ave replacing service line (SVC Renew)
• Blanding DR Service replacement
• Rowles Service replacement 

Missouri American Water:

• Replacing water connections
• Transferring water connections to new water mains
• Water meters repair

Robert Avenue-N Florissant RD to N. Elizabeth Reconstruct-Upgrade Sidewalks

• Archeological Survey underway
• Construction for this project will begin Spring 2025, at the earliest
• Upcoming Street Construction on Robert Avenue (Weather Permitting):
  • Starting October 27, 2025:
    • Starting East end of Elizabeth Ave and moving West to Florissant Road
    • As the project moves forward, information affecting residents will be provided by the contractor via yard signs, door knockers, etc.

Please be aware of the construction crew, equipment and possible traffic delays. Use caution and follow all posted signage while work is underway.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - COMPLETED

The CDBG Program is a federal program that provides funding to states, cities, and counties for projects that benefit low- and moderate-income people.  The program aims to improve the quality of life, housing, and economic opportunities for urban communities.  The program also helps to prevent urban blight and eliminate slums.  Click here for more information regarding the block grant.   

The City of Ferguson applies annually to receive grant funding through CDBG and uses the funds for street repair / infrastructure repairs. 

The 2023 Street Repair Project is currently underway.  We anticipate completion in the Fall 2024.  The following streets are slated for improvement:

• Dupree Drive
• Halpin Drive
• Laurette Drive
• Day Drive 
• Argent Avenue
• Northwinds Estate Drive
