Wayside Park Unleashed (Dog Park)

This park is for the dogs! Bring your canine friend to play without leashes. The park features a large and small dog area and is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Registration is required. 

2024 Dog Park Memberships

To register for the dog park, owners will need to bring the following up-to-date shot records to the Ferguson Community Center, 1050 Smith Ave: 
Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella.

Annual Fee (January-December): 
$5 fee per dog
(3 dogs per family limit)


 Dog Parks Rules & Regulations 

  1. Dog handlers are solely responsible for the actions of all dogs under their control, including any injuries or damages caused by the dogs.  
  2. The off-leash dog area is for dogs, their handlers and those accompanying them. No other use is allowed, except with prior authorization.
  3. All dogs must be properly licensed and vaccinated, and shall wear a visible Ferguson Dog Park license.
  4. Dogs must be on leash when entering and exiting the off-leash dog area.
  5. Dog leash must remain readily accessible to dog handler at all times.
  6. Handler is limited to a maximum of three dogs.  
  7. Handlers must remove and properly dispose of dog waste and fill any holes dug by dogs under their control.
  8. Dogs must be removed from the off-leash dog area at the first sign of aggression.  
  9. Handlers must be in the fenced area with their dogs at all times.   Dogs must be under vocal control of their dog handler.
  10. Handlers are responsible for any injuries or damages caused by the dog(s) under their control.
  11. Handlers must be 16 years of age or older.
  12. Children less than 8 years of age are not allowed in the off-leash dog area.
  13. The following are prohibited inside the dog park:
    1. Dogs under 4 months of age.
    2. Female dogs in heat.
    3. All food items, including dog treats.
    4. Spiked dog collars.   The use of pinch and choke collars, while discouraged, is at the owner’s discretion.
    5. Alcohol.
    6. Glass containers.
    7. Smoking.
    8. Pets other than dogs.
    9. Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixed breeds (per Ferguson Ordinance #2005-3252).
  14. Dogs weighing less than 20 lbs. must remain in the small dog area and dogs over 50 lbs. must remain in the large dog area.   Handlers should use their best judgment when selecting a play area for dogs between 20 and 50 lbs.  
  15. Hours:  30 Minutes before Dawn to 30 Minutes after Dusk
  16. Users of the facility do so at their own risk. The City of Ferguson, and all associated entities shall not be liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog.
  17. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in loss of Ferguson Dog Park membership.
