[ARCHIVED] City of Ferguson Names Matt Unrein as Acting City Manager

Ferguson City Council voted on Tuesday, May 12 to name Matt Unrein as Acting City Manager effective Saturday, May 16, 2015.

Unrein will replace Pam Hylton who recently accepted a position as Assistant City Manager, with the City of Richmond Heights, Missouri. Hylton’s last day of employment with the City of Ferguson will be May 15, 2015. She was appointed Interim City Manager on March 24, as a replacement to John Shaw who announced his resignation with the City.
“There are some significant changes that are taking place in the City of Ferguson,” said Ferguson Mayor James Knowles III. “Matt has served the City of Ferguson for more than two years and we are confident in his ability to make sure day-to-day operations are taking place in a timely and sufficient manner,” Knowles added.
? The City of Ferguson will continue its search to hire a municipal government interim staffing firm that specializes in placing professionals in local government positions on a temporary basis. The firm will assist with the hiring of an Interim City Manager and Interim Assistant City Manager. The positions will be filled immediately.
? The City of Ferguson is still in the process of hiring an executive search firm to assist with the nationwide search for a permanent City Manager.
