[ARCHIVED] FERGUSON CITY COUNCIL SELECTS THREE FINALISTS AS CANDIDATES FOR CITY MANAGER

??FERGUSON, Mo., Oct. 26 - The Ferguson City Council has selected three candidates as finalists in its search for a new City Manager. The three candidates will be introduced this evening during a special Meet & Greet Forum that will be held at the Ferguson Community Center, located at 1050 Smith Ave. at 6 p.m. The forum will be facilitated by GovHR USA, the executive recruitment firm retained by the Council to assist in the City’s search for a new City Manager.

?GovHR received 40 applications for the position. That field was narrowed down to six who were interviewed this past weekend. Out of that group, the following individuals were selected as finalists:

• Sara Imhulse - Ms. Imhulse has 15 years of experience in local government and currently serves as the Town Administrator for the Town of Riverdale Park, Maryland, a position she’s held since 2009. Prior to her position in Riverdale, Sara worked as an Assistant to the City Manager for College Park, Maryland for four years and before that she served as an Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Milford, Ohio. Ms. Imhulse has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from DePauw University and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University.

• Michael Rogers - Mr. Rogers has 24 years of experience in local government and currently serves as the Director of Public Works for the City of Peoria, Illinois, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to his position in Peoria, Mr. Rogers served as the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of San Antonio, Texas for and as the Director of Public Works for Wayne County, Michigan. He was President of 5 Star Engineering in Detroit for 5 years and also worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff, the Road Commission for Oakland County, Michigan and the Michigan Department of Transportation. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lawrence Technological University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University.

• De’Carlon Seewood - Mr. Seewood has 14 years of experience in local government and currently serves as the Village Manager for Richton Park, Illinois, a position he has held since 2009. Prior to his position in Richton Park, Mr. Seewood was the City Manager for Berkeley, Missouri. Prior to that, Mr. Seewood was the Assistant City Manager for the City of Ferguson, Missouri from 2001- 2007. During his tenure with Ferguson he also served as the Interim Finance Director, Interim Director of Planning and Development and the Interim Neighborhood Improvement Manager. Mr. Seewood has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rockhurst College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri.

?The “Meet and Greet” event will feature candidate presentations. Ferguson residents and community members are encouraged to attend. Those who come will be able to provide written feedback during the course of the forum which will help guide the City during its hiring process.

?On June 9, the Ferguson City Council appointed Ed Beasley as Interim City Manager.
