Two new council members along with an incumbent were sworn in at the Ferguson Council meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Linda Lipka, Heather Robinett, and incumbent Keith Kallstrom will each serve a three-year term. The three council members were sworn-in in front of family, friends and the community. Long time Ferguson Councilman Dwayne T. James was term limited, and Councilman Mark Byrnes did not seek re-election.
?Linda Lipka, will serve as Councilwoman for Ward 1. She is a life-long Ferguson resident is a business owner known for an annual trivia night that raises money for college scholarships. Lipka has raised more than $70,000 from the annual trivia night and the Taste in Ferguson.
?Heather Robinett, will serve as Councilwoman for Ward 2. She currently serves on the board of FYI (Ferguson Youth Initiative). She and Larry run the Old Ferguson West Community Garden, as well as the Central Elementary School Garden. In her spare time,she loves running, camping, and vegetarian cooking.
?Incumbent Keith Kallstrom will serve as Councilman for Ward 3. He is now serving his 6th term on the Council and has previously served on many boards & commissions. Kallstrom is a Vietnam Veteran and Retired member of the US Air Force and served 30 years, of which the last 20 were with the Missouri Air National Guard.
Also at the council meeting, Councilwoman Ella Jones was elected by council members as Mayor Pro tem.
