The City of Ferguson, Missouri, will hold an election on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, for the office of Council Member Wards 1,2,3 for a 3 year term. Any person wanting to file a declaration of candidacy for this office must also submit a signed petition.
The City of
Ferguson, Missouri, will hold an election on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, for the
office of Council Member Wards 1,2,3 for a 3 year term. Any person wanting to
file a declaration of candidacy for this office must also submit a petition
signed by at least 50 and not more than 75 registered voters. The petition
forms are
now available in the City Clerk’s
office and may be picked up at any time during regular office hours.
The petitions may
be submitted upon the filing of a declaration of candidacy but must be
submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on January 16, 2018, and must be
accompanied by a $10.00 filing fee, which will be returned if the candidate
receives at least 5% of the votes in the election.
The petitions and
declarations of candidacy must be filed with the City
Clerk at Ferguson
City Hall, 110 Church Street. Under State Law, declarations of candidacy
will be accepted starting on the opening date for filing and will not be
accepted after the last date for filing. Candidate filing for the Ferguson City
Council will open at 8:00 a.m.
on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, which date is the sixteenth Tuesday before the
election. Candidate filing will close at 5:00
p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, which date is the eleventh
