Troy Doyle, a respected law enforcement professional with over 30 years of experience in the St. Louis County Police Department, was recently appointed as the Police Chief of the Ferguson Police Department. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he is a proud father of five children and has been happily married to his wife Yolanda for 28 years.
Throughout his illustrious career, Doyle has served in various capacities in the St. Louis County Police Department, including Officer in the South County Precinct, North County Precinct, and Community Action Team; Detective in the Bureau of Drug Enforcement, FBI Gang Task Force, Intelligence Unit, and FBI Public Corruption Task Force; Sergeant in the North County Precinct and the Neighborhood Policing Unit; Lieutenant in the North County Precinct and South County Precinct, Interim Police Chief and Commander in the City of Jennings Detail. He then served as the Commanding Officer of the Division of Patrol, and also served as a commander in the Division of Operational Support and the Division of Special Operations.
Doyle's appointment to the Ferguson Police Department marks a new chapter in his career, as he takes on the responsibility of leading the department in its efforts to build strong relationships with the community and promote public safety. He has a proven track record of being an avid supporter of police and community relations and has been involved in numerous community-oriented programs. He serves on the board of several governing boards, including the St. Louis Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, where he currently serves as President, and North County Inc. He is also the founder of the St. Louis County Police Department Police Athletic League (PAL).
A graduate of the 245th session of the FBI National Academy and Lindenwood University, where he received his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Doyle has received numerous letters of appreciation, Awards of Excellence, and Chief's Commendations. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and helping others. He is also a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan.
