Debra Grady has been a resident of Ferguson for 20+ years. She was appointed to the Ferguson Civilian Review Board (FCRB) in January 2023, and is a representative for Ward 1. Debra is the widow of a US Army retiree and has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Debra obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from UMSL and her Masters of Social Work from SLU.
She is a US Army veteran and worked as a Dept of the Army civilian for 26 years. A majority of her career was serving as the Family Advocacy Program Manager (Spouse and Child Abuse). Debra also served as the Chief, Community and Family Activities Division. Debra retired in 2010.
Debra's goal for serving on the FCRB is to positively influence the Ferguson Police Department's (FPD) willingness to be transparent and accountable for their interactions with the public, and thereby increasing the Ferguson community's trust in the FPD. Her hope is that this will result in a relationship between the FPD and the Ferguson community that reflects mutual trust and cooperation.
