Traffic Commission

The Ferguson City Council has enacted a seven (7) member advisory board to oversee traffic and parking issues throughout city limits.  Working in conjunction with the City's Traffic Engineer/Public Works Department, Police Department (traffic division), the powers of the Traffic Commission are:

  • to advise on traffic and parking problems; 
  • to carry out educational activities; 
  • to supervise the preparation of traffic reports; 
  • to receive complaints relating to traffic; 
  • to recommend methods and ways to improve traffic conditions, administration, and enforcement; 
  • to initiation long-range master traffic improvement planning; to perform at the Council's request other duties related to traffic and parking; and 
  • to employ such assistants and technical advisors as it may consider necessary, within the limits of its budget.
